Distinctive Unit Insignia

Description
A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height overall blazoned as follows:  Per fesse invected Azure and Gules, overall a revolver Argent (Silver), muzzle upward to sinister and a quill pen Sable in saltire; on a chief wavy Argent, a representation of a Government Bridge throughout of the third.  Attached below the device, a Black tripartite scroll doubled Silver inscribed SERVIENS CIVIS MILITESQUE in Silver.

Symbolism
Red, white and blue are the national colors, also adapted from the Army Materiel Command.  The semicircular partition denotes Rock Island Arsenal in Illinois, the location of the Battalion.  The Remington Model 1858 revolver illustrates the readiness of the contracting officers to force through harsh conditions to accomplish their mission.  The quill signifies the units mission of contingency contracting and their commitment to remain as acquisition ready forces.  The wavy chief upon the blue background alludes to the Mississippi River surrounding Rock Island Arsenal.  The historic Government Bridge, built in 1896 under an Army contract, conveys the strong business relationship between the island and the surrounding Quad Cities community.  The motto translates to Serving Citizens and Soldiers and personifies the Soldiers readiness to deploy in response to the Warfighters contracting needs, always mindful of the trust bestowed upon contracting Soldiers by our citizens and the accountability due to them as taxpayers.
